Head Coach
As a Level 4 ECB Cricket Coach with over 20 years experience I’ve worked across performance pathways, talent ID, and player development. My philosophy is built on continuous improvement, hard work, and enjoyment of the game, creating environments that challenge, support, and inspire players to be their best. This is why I've launched the Northern Edge Cricket Academy (N.E.C.A).
Currently Head coach of Cumbria 1st XI and Development XI. Over the last 20 years I’ve gained invaluable experience working across the pathway from grass roots into the professional game. Coaching in multiple high performing environments I have gained in depth knowledge and understanding on how to develop young players.
I've coached in the Cumbria Boys’ & Girls’ pathways, in the Surrey and Durham academies, developing players at Whitgift School, and served as Head Coach of Lancashire Women’s 1st XI and Academy.

Today, I’m proud to help the next generation of Cumbrian cricketers believe, develop, and represent their county with pride.

Jake Woods
As a Level 3 ECB Coach Jakes mission is to create wicket-taking fielders: players who not only sharpen their technique but also develop the mindset to seize every chance and impact matches, focusing on the little 1% improvements that turn good fielders into game-changers. Alongside cricket, Jake also run a young people’s mental health business, and that experience shapes his coaching style. He knows how important confidence, resilience, and enjoyment are to performance, and I bring that energy into every session
Kian Larmour
Kian is an ambitious young cricketer with a strong passion for both playing and coaching.
After completing his ECB Level 2 qualification at the earliest opportunity, he has gone on to coach in schools across the county and within the Cumbria Cricket Junior Pathway, specialising in batting and wicketkeeping.
We are proud to support him at Northern Edge Cricket Academy as both a player and a coach he continues to support us to develop the next generation of cricketers in Cumbria.
